Derek Lu, M.D.
Derek Lu, M.D. is a Senior Research Lead in Patient Square Insights at Patient Square Capital. Prior to joining Patient Square, Dr. Lu was a Principal in the health care practice at Boston Consulting Group, advising clients on strategic and operational topics within medical technologies, devices, and pharmaceuticals. Before BCG, Dr. Lu trained as a neurosurgery resident at Baylor College of Medicine, where he gained operative and clinical experience in surgery, critical care, and neurosciences. Dr. Lu also previously served as a guest researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine in Germany.
Dr. Lu holds an M.D. from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a B.S. in Biology with departmental honors from Stanford University.
