Neel Varshney, M.D.
Neel Varshney, M.D. is a Founding Partner and Deal Team Leader of Patient Square Capital. He has over 19 years of investment and health care experience. Prior to Patient Square, Dr. Varshney was a Managing Director on KKR’s Americas Health Care Team, where he focused on health care private equity and growth equity. Prior to joining KKR, he was a Vice President at Linden Capital Partners. Earlier in his career, he worked at McKinsey & Company and Medtronic. Dr. Varshney trained as a physician at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), a Harvard academic teaching hospital, where he cared for patients in the acute care setting.
Dr. Varshney currently serves on the boards of directors of Apollo Therapeutics, Elevage Medical Technologies, Enavate Sciences, Kriya Therapeutics, Osanni Bio, and Premier. He has served on the boards of companies across health care sectors and stages, including Ajax Health, BrightSpring Pharmerica, CORPAK MedSystems, Envision Healthcare, EPIX Therapeutics, Headlands Research, Slayback Pharma, and Virtus Pharmaceuticals. He also serves on the board of the non-profit organization Southern Research, based in Birmingham, AL.
Dr. Varshney holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB); an M.D. with honors, Soros Fellow, from Harvard Medical School and MIT (Health Sciences and Technology program); and an M.Sc. in Neuroscience, Rhodes Scholar, from the University of Oxford.
