Stuart Kurlander is a Senior Advisor to Patient Square Capital and former Global Co-Chair of the Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice and Global Co-Chair of the Israel Practice at Latham & Watkins.

Mr. Kurlander founded and built Latham & Watkins’ preeminent Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice in Washington, DC. During more than a decade as Chair of the Chambers Band 1 rated D.C. Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice and a number of years as Global Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice Chair, he broadly expanded the breadth of the firm’s medtech, diagnostic, digital health, pharmaceutical and biotechnology and health service offerings on behalf of public and private companies and also private equity, investment bank and venture capital firms.

Additionally, for more than 20 years, Mr. Kurlander founded and led the Latham & Watkins’ Israel Practice Group as either Global Chair or Global Co-Chair leading the representation of a variety of Israel oriented companies, particularly in the life sciences and digital health sectors.

Mr. Kurlander started his career as an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel, CMS Division, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services where he advised on regulatory matters including reimbursement. Additionally, he drafted regulations and litigated complex Medicare and Medicaid cases in federal courts.

Mr. Kurlander has a J.D. from St. Louis School University of Law along with a M.H.A from St. Louis University. Mr. Kurlander has a B.A. from Indiana University.
